Call of Duty 4 Race and Ethnicity

I have chose to play a game called Call of Duty 4 this whole semester and analyze it. This first topic had me look into the "Race and Ethnicity" of it. I didn't only analyze the campaign play, but I also looked into the Online play of it. While doing this I found a few things that caught my eye with race and ethnicity.
One thing that caught my eye in the campaign play is that there are not any women in it. This tells me that whomever made this game believes that women do not belong in war. I went on to the online play of this game and also realized that there aren't any women in it, the only character one can be is a white American, black American, or a Taliban. I also did a little survey with people I met playing online, 70% were white males, 20% were Hispanic, 19% were black males, and the rest were others.

  1. As a COD 4 fan myself, thats crazy knowing that white males make up the majority of players for this game. It's interesting you point out there are no women in the game. Shows that not everyone concurs that women belong in war just as men do. We'll see if this issue repeats itself for the sequel next month.
